Honoring 367 students at Quoc Tu Giam

TTH.VN - On December 6th, the Provincial People's Committee held an “Honorary Ceremony For Honor Students” at Quoc Tu Giam. Attending the ceremony was Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

“Honor Student” is a prestigious title awarded to only 1 student per school at Quoc Tu Giam - Hue. This university, the only one from the feudal era that still exists in our country, is a unique, historical and cultural relic of high-value, symbolizing the studiousness of the land of studiousness that used to be the Capital of the country.

During its existence, Quoc Tu Giam had made a significant contribution to training talented people for the country. Among 500 Doctoral Laureates and Doctoral Laureates of the Second Tier of the Nguyen dynasty, many used to study at this university.

The selection of Quoc Tu Giam as the venue for holding an Honorary Ceremony for Honor Students aims to educate students about the pride in and responsibility for their learning and disciplining. In the academic year 2019-2020, students in the province won more than 900 high awards in Excellent Student Competitions as well as Science and Technology Contests at provincial and national levels, of which 52 students won prizes at the National Excellent Student Competition.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho praised 367 students as the flagship of each school in the movement of learning, emulating and disciplining to achieve the title of Honor Students in the academic year 2019 - 2020. Mr. Tho especially praised and complimented students in difficult circumstances who have overcome the situations with their determination, willpower and endeavor to achieve excellent results in learning and disciplining. They are striking examples in studying, cultivating, and being the intellectual talents of the province and the country at present and in the future.

Mr. Tho emphasized that the Province will continue to care about, accompany by the provincial educational causes and watch over students’ study. In addition, he also expressed the hope that all levels, sectors, classes and parents to continue to provide care and create better conditions for their children’s efforts in studying and disciplining.
