Hue must transform into the model of digital transformation and the destination of major tech events

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung; Vice Chairman, General Secretary of Vietnam Association of Informatics Nguyen Long; Director of Quang Trung Lam Software Park Development Company Limited Nguyen Hai Long; representatives of ministries, departments and branches; leaders of provinces and cities together with leaders of associations, information technology groups and enterprises in the country.

With the theme "Opportunities - Challenges", the Digital Transformation Week - Hue 2021 aims to contribute to promoting and facilitating cooperation and investment in sectors and fields that are the driving force for socio-economic development of the province in particular and the regional and national economy in general. This is an opportunity for agencies, associations, businesses and localities to meet and exchange capabilities, needs, solutions and policies to promote digital transformation in key areas such as investment, tourism, health, education and public administration services.

In his opening speech, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu emphasized that digital transformation is opening up many opportunities. At the same time, it is posing many challenges to each country, organization and individual. The impact of digital transformation is increasingly strong and profound on all socio-economic fields.

Recently, Thua Thien Hue has focused on promoting digital transformation, application and development of science, technology, and innovation, and initially achieved many positive results.

With the determination to reform beliefs and actions, timely take advantage of opportunities, including digital transformation and consider it as a breakthrough solution in socio-economic development, the Digital Transformation Week - Hue 2021 is the innovation in the implementation of the National Digital Transformation Program, promoting digital transformation in Vietnam.

This is a series of important events, integrating activities of conferences, seminars and forums… focuses on key digital transformation areas of the province. The events aim to promote cooperation and investment in different sectors and fields, which will contribute to creating a driving force for socio-economic development of the province and is meaningful to the region and the country.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung highly appreciated the efforts of the Provincial People's Committee in organizing the Digital Transformation Week. The event demonstrated the high determination of the provincial leader and the breakthrough approach in implementing digital transformation. This was a golden opportunity to promote digital transformation to the people, with the ultimate goal of serving businesses, people and society.

From a local perspective, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung suggested Thua Thien Hue consider itself a miniature country to apply and implement digital transformation by setting strategic goals in accordance with the local context.

According to Mr. Dung, the province needs to choose a number of breakthrough goals to implement in 2021. Specifically, they include: supporting small and medium-sized businesses with the integrated goals of both recovering the economy after COVID-19, and contributing to digital transformation; bringing 100% of online public services to level 4, achieving the rate of online public services to 50% and the rate of processing completely online to above 50%.

"This is a very challenging goal, but implementing it will go hand in hand with the fulfillment of the most basic targets of e-government along with effective use," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung.

Signing a memorandum of understanding at the ceremony

The medium-term goals to 2025 with breakthroughs as follow: implementing digital businesses, digital health, digital education and digital tourism. The Deputy Minister requested Thua Thien Hue to maintain the annual Digital Transformative Week events and publish the province's specific problem for digital technology businesses to participate in solving. “Turning Thua Thien Hue into a destination for major national and international technology events, towards the goal of both developing tourism and developing digital technology, becoming a model of digital transformation of localities. ".

At the conference, Mr. Phi Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association presented an article entitled "Effective digital transformation - Proposal for contributions from HCA"; Mr. Le Hong Ha - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Information Technology Association, "Introduction of Vietnam ICT Index 2020 Report accompanying Digital Transformation in Thua Thien Hue from Vietnam ICT Index Drafting Board"; Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Xuan Son presented "Report on results of building e-government and orientations for digital transformation in Thua Thien Hue province", which detailed the province's achievements in recent years on the implementation of the e-government and smart city model.

The conference also included forums with the visiting guests being leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, leaders of the province, the Department of Information and Communications, and leaders of different agencies on the topic "Effective digital transformation for the promotion of regional economic development".

Also at the ceremony, the province launched electronic service platforms to serve the people, including: Hue-S, Electronic transcripts; Electronic health records; Smart travel platform, Cashless Payments.

The participants signed a memorandum of understanding in order to realize the connection and association between smart service businesses to implement activities in the coming time: Signing the deployment of smart bicycles; Memorandum of understanding to promote and support digital transformation between organizations and enterprises.
