Hue wins gold medal at 2018 National Youth Classic and Freestyle Wrestling Championships

TTH.VN - July 9 ended the 2018 National Youth Classic and Freestyle Wrestling Championships, Thua Thien Hue wrestling team won 3 medals (including 1 gold medal, and 2 bronze medals), well accomplishing its target.

The championships, which has been taking place in Thai Nguyen from July 1 to July 12, gathering over 120 athletes from 20 provinces, cities and departments across the country. The athletes have competed for 28 sets of medals in three categories, including classic wrestling, male freestyle wrestling, and female freestyle wrestling. Thua Thien Hue team with 4 athletes set target for gold medals.

As a result, athlete Nguyen Thi My Trang won a gold medal in the weight class of 57kg in female freestyle wrestling; athlete Duong Quoc Bao Minh won a bronze medal in the weight class of 125kg in male freestyle wrestling, and athlete Phan Canh Dat won a bronze medal in the weight class of 92kg in male freestyle wrestling.

Coach Dinh Van Kien, Head of the Provincial Wrestling Department shared that it was very difficult to win medals against the strong teams, many teams had won nothing. This result helps Thua Thien Hue wrestling team well accomplish its goal and gain two more bronze medals over the championships last year.
