Le Loi Primary School (Hue City) wins First prize in “Vietnam ASEAN eco-schools” competition
TTH.VN - On December 27th, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in collaboration with “For Green Future” Foundation (Vingroup), held the 2024 Vietnam ASEAN Eco-schools awards ceremony in Hanoi.

The “ASEAN Eco-Schools” award is a key activity under the ASEAN environmental cooperation framework. This event recognizes schools with outstanding achievements in environmental education, promotes eco-school models, spreads awareness about environmental protection in Vietnamese schools, and fosters connections with ASEAN countries.
The competition received 83 entries from schools nationwide. The organizers awarded First, Second, Third, and Consolation prizes to primary, secondary and high school categories nationwide. Notably, Le Loi Primary School in Hue City secured First prize in the primary school category. Additionally, two other schools from Thua Thien Hue, Huong Toan No. 1 Primary School and Nguyen Chi Dieu Secondary School, were awarded Consolation prizes.

Le Loi Primary School is one of the most proactive institutions in environmental education. The school established an Eco-Council, conducted on-campus surveys, and developed long-term plans for 2020-2025, with specific annual themes such as Environment Day festivals, green-clean-bright-four seasons with flowers school competitions, the “Drawing Dreams with Straw” program, and environmental protection art contests…
At the start of each school year, the school organizes training sessions for teachers, students, and parents to enhance knowledge about waste management and implement waste sorting practices on campus. The school also integrates environmental themes into core and extracurricular educational activities, establishes a “Green Environment” club, and develops a “Green Code of Conduct” for the school. Significant investments have also been made to upgrade facilities, while proposal to increase financial support was also submitted to higher levels to install certified drinking water filtration systems, construct new restrooms, renovate classrooms, as well as create green railings, green spaces in schools, etc... The school has also achieved numerous accolades in environmental competitions.
