Over 300 cases offered free blood pressure measurement and counsel
TTH.VN - On the morning of May 11, more than 300 people went to Hospital of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy to have their blood pressure checked and get free counsel with doctors.

This activity is part of the May Measurement Month (MMM) hosted by Hue’s Heart Association in collaboration with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy through a program launched by the International Society of Hypertension annually. Vietnam is one of 100 countries selected to participate in the program with the goal of helping people understand the role of regular blood pressure check-up and the need to know how to prevent hypertension, to do exercise and having proper diet.
The MMM program started from 2017 to 2018 and has carried out over 20,000 cases (over 18 years old) by the Vietnamese Society of Hypertension in 10 provinces and cities; including Thua Thien Hue. Notably, through the screening in Thua Thien Hue, 62.5% of people did not know they had hypertension and 42.5% of them did not control their blood pressure. Free blood pressure counseling and measurement
Regular blood pressure measurement is essential and important, especially for families having hypertensive patients. Not only does it help you find out if you have hypertension, but it also helps the sick ones, his/her family easily monitor the blood pressure. Since then, patients would have timely detected hypertensive emergencies, which can lead to death.
On this occasion, cases having counseling, blood pressure measurements also received useful information on cardiovascular disease, blood pressure control and essential presents for their health funded by OMRON. This is a good opportunity for people to have a good look on their own health as well as those around them.
