Patient Nguyen L. (on the first left) recovers from cardiac arrest

Patient Nguyen L. (48 years old, fisherman from Phu Vang district) suddenly suffered a severe chest pain on the morning of November 13 and was taken to the district health center by the family. Then he was transferred immediately to the Hospital of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. "At the hospital's Emergency department, the patient suffered from cyanosis, dyspnea, lethargy, his pulse and blood pressure could not be measured." said Assoc. Prof. Hoang Anh Tien, head of the team. After intensive resuscitation, the patient had no signs of recovery, and was almost fatal. With the determination to save his life, after 30 minutes of intensive intervention, the intervention was successful. The thrombus was removed from the coronary arteries. Nguyen L. was then transferred to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) to continue with his treatment.

After that, the patient can almost completely recover. He can walk on his own, eat as usual and was discharged. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tien, the success of this difficult intervention is the result of the effective and responsible combination of the whole team, especially the Emergency department and Intensive Care Unit regarding the approval from the family. The rate of cardiovascular disease in general and myocardial infarction in particular is increasing and rejuvenating. People need to have regular medical check-ups as well as to go to centers with Digital Subtraction Angiography Unit to be treated in time.
