The “Zero-VND” supermarket provides many items for students
The “Zero-VND” supermarket was opened from 8am to 4pm on the same day, with nearly 20 essential items, such as rice, instant noodles, salt, cooking oil, fish sauce, canned fish, water, milk, and washing powder, etc. Earlier, coupons had been delivered to around 300 students, each coupon worth VND 150,000. They can freely choose items and necessities according to their needs, equivalent to the coupon value.
During the morning, as the “Zero-VND” supermarket started to open, a lot of students came to choose and buy goods. Vo Thi Mai, a student from Quang Nam province, said: “Many student families are affected by the floods anf storms, and that has also made the student’s life difficult. The “Zero-VND” supermarket is different from the activities of supporting and giving gifts, as students can choose the items and necessities that are in shortage. It is also a way to help us overcome immediate difficulties”.
Mr. Nguyen Pham Bao Quy, Vice Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Student Union of the University of Economics, Hue University, said that this was the first time that a “Zero-VND” supermarket was opened to students. This program’s main purpose is to support students after the floods. The students have been surveyed and received coupons earlier, which is convenient for the preparation of supplies, as well as organizing steps.
