Sustainable energy in response to climate change promoted

TTH.VN - On the morning of May 23rd, the Faculty of Environment, University of Sciences, Hue University in collaboration with Green IN Vietnam Joint Stock Company, organized a communication program called “Sustainable Energy in Response to Climate Change.”

This program aimed to search for communication initiatives on “Sustainable Energy in Response to Climate Change” among students from the University of Sciences, Hue University, and high school students from Hue Science High School for Gifted.

At the program, the students had the opportunity to listen to speakers sharing insights about climate change and renewable energy sources to cope with the effects of climate change. They were also able to review videos showcasing the submitted initiatives.

Assoc. Prof. Hoang Cong Tin, Head of the Faculty of Environment, shared that the program aimed to encourage students to come up with ideas and take actions to protect the environment. The participating works brought forth fresh and innovative messages from the younger generation regarding environmental issues. The program aimed to spread the message of “Using Sustainable Energy in Respond to Climate Change” and through it, change the habits and behaviours of young people in their electricity usage.

Earlier in mid-May, the Faculty of Environment, University of Sciences, Hue University launched a competition for communication initiatives with the theme of “Developing renewable energy.” In total, seven initiatives were submitted by student groups in the form of video clips to the faculty.

In the final results, the initiative on “Straw” biomass energy by Nguyen Viet Hao, Ngo Thi Hien, and Huynh Ngoc Huong (University of Sciences, Hue University) won the first prize.
