Blue Dragon Children's Foundation (Australia) sponsors the project to prevent children from migrating unaccompanied

TTH.VN - On June 25, The Provincial People’s Committee granted approval to receive the non-refundable project “Preventing minors from migrating unaccompanied to high-income countries for work and child labor abuse in Thua Thien Hue Province” sponsored by Blue Dragon Children's Foundation (Australia).

The project will be implemented in Phu Loc and Phu Vang districts  with activities like bringing children home to be reunited with their families and to be reintegrated into community, as well as providing support to young women and unaccompanied migrant children to place them back early to work. Besides, the project also helps improve skills and abilities for provincial and local authorities to deal with the cases of unaccompanied migrant children and child labor abuse and to create a safe and sound environment for them.

The total capital of the project is 2.45 billion VND (111.364 USD), of which the non-refundable capital is VND 2.35 billion and reciprocal capital 100 million VND (raised from the voluntary contributions of government officers, members of local women’s associations)

On the same day, The Provincial People’s Committee also gave approval to receive 976 wheelchairs worth 65.684,6 USD (1.477.049.600 VND) donated by the American non-profit corporation ‘Giving It Back to Kids’ to the province’s Association for the Support of Handicapped and Orphans  for the handicapped in the province.
