Hue ranks in the top group of the Viet Nam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) 2019
TTH.VN - On April 28, at the online official launch of the Viet Nam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) 2019 cooperated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam and a number of organizations, Thua Thien Hue has made a leap to stand in the highest group, rising to the fifth position nationwide.

In the summing up result of the PAPI 2019 among 63 provinces and cities, Ben Tre is ranked highest with a score of 46.74 points, followed by Dong Thap (46.72 points), Quang Ninh (46.66 points), Bac Giang (46.04 points), and Thua Thien Hue with a score of 45.86 points.
With this score, Thua Thien Hue is ranked fifth out of 63 provinces and cities (in 2018, the province was ranked 43/63); in which, the dimension of the participation at local levels scores 5.24 points; transparency scores 5.29 points; vertical accountability scores 5.46 points; control of corruption scores 6.72 points; public administrative procedures scores 7.20 points; public service delivery scores 7.52 points; environmental governance scores 4.11 points, and e-governance scores 4.31 points.
PAPI Research is the largest-scale annual sociological survey in Vietnam for policy enforcement monitoring. In 2019, 14,138 people participated in the PAPI survey, sharing their assessments of the performance of the public authorities in the past year. Empirical data and information from the PAPI provides a realistic picture of the effectiveness of authorities at different levels in meeting people's needs and desires. The PAPI serves as a “mirror” to help authorities review their activities in a year, as well as creating a healthy competitive practice and a culture of learning experiences among local governments.
