During the meeting, Mr. Mori Takero, the Japanese Consul General in Da Nang, expressed his gratitude and joy for the warm reception by provincial leaders during his visit and working trip to Thua Thien Hue Province. He also congratulated the province on its achievements in socio-economic development and particularly on officially becoming a centrally-governed municipality from the beginning of 2025.
The Japanese Consul General Mori Takero hopes to promote cooperation between Japan and Vietnam in general, and Thua Thien Hue Province in particular, in the coming time.
Mr. Mori Takero proposed cooperation in training high-quality human resources for Thua Thien Hue Province, aiming to increase the number of students from typical high schools in Thua Thien Hue studying at prestigious public universities in Japan. This will contribute to training high-quality human resources who can return to work in Vietnamese/Japanese enterprises in Thua Thien Hue after graduation.
The Consul General affirmed that he would make efforts to connect, introduce, and promote information about Thua Thien Hue to Japanese partners, businesses, and investors, thereby contributing to promoting friendly cooperative relations with Japanese localities.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, warmly welcomed the Japanese Consul General in Da Nang Mori Takero to visit and work in Thua Thien Hue Province.
Mr. Phuong stated that the province has had effective cooperative relations with many Japanese localities and has achieved good results in many fields such as tourism development, cultural exchange, people’s diplomacy... Within the comprehensive cooperation framework between Vietnam and Japan, the province has received large ODA projects from Japan.
The Vice Chairman hopes that with the memorandums signed between the governments of the two countries and between Japanese localities and Thua Thien Hue, the Japanese Consul General in Da Nang will study and support preferential loan capital from the Japanese Government for infrastructure development in Thua Thien Hue. He is interested in connecting vocational education institutions/enterprises in Thua Thien Hue to sign contracts to send workers/students for internships in Japan in the form of skill enhancement internships in fields such as information technology, textile, high-tech agriculture, nursing, and caregiving. He calls on Japanese investors to pay attention and invest in fields of strength for both sides. Additionally, he aims to promote cooperation in postgraduate training programs, scientific research, technology transfer, and international publications.
Mr. Phan Quy Phuong affirmed that with its rich historical traditions and cultural connections, Thua Thien Hue has potential for development and cooperation with countries in the region, especially Japanese localities. Therefore, he hopes that in the coming time, the Consul General will serve as a bridge to encourage Japanese businesses to continue to pay attention and research their potential investments in Thua Thien Hue.
