Inaugurating Phong Dien TTC solar power plant

Cutting the ribbon to inaugurate the plant

Setting to work from January 2018 in My Hoa hamlet, Dien Loc commune, Phong Dien TTC solar power plant which was invested by Gia Lai Electricity JSC is located on a 45-hectare area, with the capacity of 35 MW. The total investment is nearly 1.000 billion VND. The project has more than 145.560 solar panels installed with modern technology and equipment, bringing in the high productivity. These panels will absorb the sunlight’s radiation and convert it into electrical energy falling in line with electrical conductive system.

After 9 months of construction and equipment installation, the plant officially comes into work, and it will generate power with the output of around 60 million kWh per year. This output is approximate to the annual electricity consumption of about 32.628 households, and expected to reduce CO2 emission by around 20.503 tonnes per year. It is expected that in 2019, the plant will expand its scale with the capacity of 29.5 MW in the area of 38.5 hectares, partly meeting the need of electricity consumption in the future.

Addressing the ceremony, The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ministry Do Thang Hai emphasized, the operation of TTC Phong Dien solar power plant plays an important meaning in the work of increasing the use of renewable energy in Vietnam, contributing to completing the target of the government, which is, to 2030, the country will implement 10% of renewable energy, ensuring national energy security, as well as meet the need of using electricity of the people.
