Launching the contest of writing and painting about homeland’s sea and islands
TTH.VN - On December 10, at Vinh Ha secondary school (Phu Vang district), Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund coordinated with Thieu Nien Tien Phong (Young Pioneers) Newspaper, the club “For the beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” and the Provincial Education and Training Department to hold a launching ceremony of the contest of writing and painting about homeland’s sea and islands.

At the launching ceremony, students were disseminated about the position, roles, as well as the potentials and strengths of the sea, islands, frontiers, and mainland for the cause of constructing and defending the country through the historical legal evidences affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) islands, the results in the work of safeguarding the frontier and territorial waters security, etc.
The “writing and painting about homeland’s sea and islands” contest is held for students from elementary to high schools throughout the country, which was launched from November 10, 2019 in Ha Noi, and it was also launched in some provinces nationwide. The writing session includes 12 questions with 11 multiple choice questions and 1 essay question. The content is about the knowledge and understanding of Vietnam’s sea and islands and the related issues of Vietnam’s sea and islands sovereignty.
The contest aims to create more playground for useful knowledge on the topics of homeland’s sea and islands, expressing love for homeland’s sea and islands; encouraging the cooperation of mainland with sea, and islands; as well as on the topics of the dream of building a beautiful homeland’s sea and islands and the determination of safeguarding the sacred sovereignty of Vietnam.
