Provincial leader receives Fr. Louis Tirana - Vice-Superior of the Benedictine Order
TTH.VN - On August 7, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee - Mr Phan Ngoc Tho received and worked with Father Louis Tirana, Vice-Superior of the Benedictine Order.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho expressed his pleasure to receive Father Louis Tirana at the provincial People's Committee.
The Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee also introduced the socio-economic situation of Thua Thien Hue province, as well as affirmed that the socio-economic development of the province over the past years has always had the companion from the compatriots of religions, including Catholics. In the Party's and State's views on religion, Thua Thien Hue always respects freedom of belief and of religion. The province has always facilitated the legitimate needs of the religions within the framework of the law.
Through this meeting, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee hoped Fr. Louis Tirana would study and have a voice with Thien An monastery and subjects using land in Thuy Bang commune to exchange together, remove the obstacles to come to a common voice. Father Louis Tirana, Vice-Superior of the Benedictine Order, thanked the Thua Thien Hue provincial leaders for their warm welcome. The priest said he was very impressed with the landscape and people in Hue, especially impressed by the openness and goodwill of the Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee. Father Louis Tirana said he was delighted at Thua Thien Hue's interest in the development of religions in general and of Catholicism in particular.
Regarding the land issue at Thien An monastery, Father Louis Tirana’s point of view was respect for Vietnamese law. He hoped that the subjects using land in Thuy Bang commune and Thien An monastery would continue to discuss and completely solve the matter on the spirit of respecting the law.
