Rewarding international prizes awarded students in academic year 2016-2017

TTH.VN - This is the awards Ceremony to reward and commend the students of the province who won prizes in international contests in academic year 2016 – 2017.

On the morning of August 14, at Quoc Hoc gifted High school, the provincial People's Committee and Department of Education and Training held the awards Ceremony to reward and commend the students of the province who won prizes in international contests in academic year 2016 – 2017. Attending the ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Thanh Ha and Deputy chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dung. This year, Quoc Hoc High School for gifted students won two major awards: Gold medal in Biology and Bronze medal in Informatics; in addition, 6 students won prizes in the international scientific research playground.

Provincial leaders award Hoai Lam and Dong Hung

Winning Gold medal in biology, Truong Dong Hung, the first to make history in the International Biology Olympiads of Vietnam, was awarded the highest level: 60 million VND ( approximately 2640 USD) from the provincial People's Committee and 10 million VND ( approximately 440 USD) from the provincial Study Promotion fund. With the winning of Bronze medal in Informatics, Nguyen Hy Hoai Lam was awarded 20 million VND (approximately 880 USD) from the provincial People's Committee, 5 million VND (approximately 220 USD) from the provincial Study Promotion fund. (Previously, Hoai Lam also won the Silver medal in Informatics in Asia-Pacific area).

This ceremony also commended 6 students winning international prizes in scientific – technological research at the International Exhibition for Young Inventors held in Japan in 2017. They were 2 students of Quoc Hoc gifted High school who won Silver medal, 2 students of To Huu secondary school who won Bronze medal and 2 students of Nguyen Hue High School who received the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training of Thailand.
