Keeping the net knitting craft

TTH.VN - Most of all women in the coastal area were familiar with knitting net when their husbands and sons attaching their lives with boats on the sea to make their living. That was the story of decades ago.

Now, the fishing business is still there, but net knitting craft is just preserved by the elderly, most are women. Partly because this craft has been narrowed in some localities, while the other reason is that the fishermen have invested in many high-powered boats, with more modern fishing methods.

Nevertheless, in the idle and billowy season without going out to the sea, the women in the coastal area still doing net knitting as a way to keep the craft, to both increase income and reduce the expense for buying nets for the next fishing season.
