For the 3rd time in a row, Hue City won the ASEAN Clean Tourism City Award - an opportunity for Hue's tourism sector to effectively market its tourism business activities. With many solutions adopted by the province, maintaining the clean tourism city brand is also synonymous with strong growth in harmony with sustainable criteria.

On the evening of January 26th, 2024, the award ceremony for the ASEAN Clean Tourist City took place in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Hue City, being one of three cities representing Vietnam, proudly received this prestigious award. This is an award within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) held from January 22nd to 27th. The delegation from Hue City, led by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City, Vo Le Nhat, attended the award ceremony and participated in various activities of the forum.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Provincial Department of Tourism, said that on the evening of January 26, within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF), there was an award ceremony for the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Awards, taking place in Vientiane, Laos. The three cities representing Vietnam have been awarded (which will be effected from 2024 to 2026) namely: Hue (Thua Thien Hue Province), Vung Tau (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province), and Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh Province).

With the development orientation to become a modern urban area developing clean industries and high-tech industries, an international trade center, a center of tourism and services, and high-class resort, etc., Chan May - Lang Co (CM-LC) urban area is being taken into consideration to be invested to become a modern coastal urban area with regional as well as international standards.
