Hong Thai is a commune located near the Vietnam - Laos border, recognized as one of the most economically disadvantaged areas in A Luoi. Over 91% of the population here is of Ta Oi ethnic group, with livelihoods primarily center on agriculture and forestry.

A Roang is a border commune of A Luoi district, which is about 90km away from Hue city center. People living here are mainly the Ta Oi people. Boi p'ruc is the name of the salt with leaves and seeds of the Ta Oi people in the A Luoi highland. This is the "divine" salt used for many dishes of the Ta Oi people on weekdays and traditional holidays.

With the same value as Zèng cloth, the Amber sleeping mat of Ta Oi people (in A Luoi) also takes a lot of effort to produce. To make this product, sometimes the process of picking leaves, stripping, drying, dyeing, knitting… takes more than a month.
