The sketches created by Artist Nguyen Van Nguyen successfully depict the heroic historical years of the resistance war fought by the people and soldiers of Binh Tri Thien against the US. These sketches accurately portrayed the lives of compatriots and soldiers during this time. Many of these works were composed during the war and were introduced to the public for the first time in an exhibition titled “Memory Land”.

The ancient ruong houses, river wharfs from afar, the ancient gold apple tree (Diospyros decandra) and the flaming pottery kiln of Phuoc Tich ancient village became shimmering and poetic when being painted. From real-life objects to becoming a painting, these scenes contained a lot of painters’ emotions and vibration about a so-called rare ancient village of Vietnam.

It is not surprising that two feature films set in Hue won awards at the 22nd Vietnam Film Festival, which had just taken place in Hue. The film "Dreamy Eyes", portraying an ordinary life, won the Golden Lotus Prize, and the film "Camellia Sisters V", portraying a luxurious royal setting, won the prize of the Organizing Committee.
