Connecting reality and digital in Thua Thien Hue

TTH.VN - “Digital transformation, new technologies to support preservation and festivals” was the theme of the Conference on Connecting Reality and Digital in Thua Thien Hue Province. The event was jointly organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Vietnam Association for Information Processing, and Hue Center for Information and Technology (HueCIT) on October 12th. This conference was one of the practical initiatives in celebration of National Digital Transformation Day.

The conference aimed to introduce emerging technology trends, such as NFT, Blockchain, Web 3, and the connection of reality and digital aspects in the digitization of relics, experimental connection of some precious artifacts to real-digital space. It also facilitated the exchange of experiences regarding digital transformation in the context of heritage preservation.

At the conference, speakers delivered presentations on Digital assets - Digital economy and practice in Vietnam, the potential of digital physical technology, and proposed solutions for applying new technologies into preserving and promoting the cultural identity value of Hue Ancient Capital.

The conference also covered the digital transformation and the progress of implementing the digital transformation project of Hue Monuments Conservation Center in the past year. In heritage data, they delved into issues related to heritage digitization to create digital heritage assets that serve conservation and increase economic value from digital assets. The management of heritage based on data increases transparency, opens data for creative content generation, and creating value added. Participants also engaged in discussions about digital assets and the value derived from NFT products, about the establishment of digital museums to enhance the visitor experience, and the use of digital data for heritage preservation, and the services development on digital data.

Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, informed that from July to September 2023, the center collaborated with HueCIT and Vietnam Association for Information Processing to invite experts from Google to share insights on new technologies such as NFT, Blockchain, Web 3, and the reality-digital connection. They learned about Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities’ artifact digitization projects, while experimentally connecting some precious artifacts of Hue royal court to reality-digital space. These efforts have generated encouraging results and being ready to be introduced to the general audience and visitors.

These activities will continue to deepen and comprehensively align with the Digital transformation program of Hue Monuments Conservation Center. In the near future, the center will continue to collaborate with relevant units to accelerate the progress of digital transformation, focusing on the development of practical technology platforms that apply virtual reality technology in heritage preservation, enhancing the value of heritage.
