According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, there are currently 17 foreign direct investment projects from South Korea across the province, with a total registered capital of more than 61.6 million USD, focused on the sectors including: services, garments, infrastructure of industrial parks, and information technology. Some large South Korean enterprises are operating effectively. Many South Korean enterprises are considering investing in Thua Thien Hue.
Thua Thien Hue has completed 6 projects using South Korea’s ODA capital, with a total amount of about 55 million USD. In the period of 2022 - 2026, Thua Thien Hue has continued to receive non-refundable ODA projects funded by the South Korean Government through KOICA.
Hue is a familiar destination for international visitors; especially, South Korea is always one of the countries with the highest number of visitors to Hue. Cultural exchange and tourism promotion activities are regularly organized...
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong hoped that Thua Thien Hue would continue to cooperate more comprehensively with South Korean partners in the sectors such as city planning, including smart city construction; manufacturing industry, supporting industry; tourism cooperation; education and training, and health, etc.

Mr. Phuong proposed that the South Korean side cooperate in building infrastructure in the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone as well as investing in new urban areas, world-class tourism complexes, and supporting urban development projects in Hue City, etc.
At the same time, he hoped that the South Korean side would support and promote the program to exploit the South Korean tourism market to Thua Thien Hue with charter flights from Hue to Incheon; continue to maintain the charter flight model in the future so as to increase the number of visitors from South Korea to Hue; and introduce art troupes to Hue to participate in Hue Festival, which is due to take place from June 7 - 12...
At the meeting, Mr. Kang Boo Sung, the Consul General of South Korea in Da Nang congratulated the recent socio-economic development achievements of Thua Thien Hue.
Mr. Kang Boo Sung agreed and supported the province's cooperation proposals; at the same time, he wished to act as a bridge to further strengthen the cultural and economic exchanges and cooperation between South Korea and Thua Thien Hue in particular, as well as provinces in the Central region in general, especially information and promotion to attract South Korean visitors to Thua Thien Hue.
"We hope that the leaders of Thua Thien Hue will continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for South Korean enterprises operating in the province; at the same time, have favorable mechanisms and policies in place to attract South Korean enterprises to invest in Thua Thien Hue," said Mr. Kang Boo Sung.
