Crowd of tourists visiting the Citadel on September 2nd
Around 9 a.m., thousands of tourists visited the Citadel. This year, the Citadel continued to be opened with free admission for Vietnamese citizens. Therefore, a large number of visitors from districts and towns in the province “converged” on the city to enjoy the holiday.
In the stream of visitors to the Citadel, those from other provinces as well as from all over the world also occupied a significant number. Mr. Tran Trung Hieu from Ha Tinh province said that there were many options for his family to go on the holiday. He chose Hue city because of the convenient travel time. He will stay in the city for one more night on the September 2nd and leave at noon time of September 3rd to end his family’s trip.
Thien Mu Pagoda has attracted tourists in normal days; today it attracted more. Visitors to the pagoda were mainly tourists. Most outstanding in the morning of September 2nd was a delegation from Hanoi. One of them shared they tried to have their ao dai made as soon as arriving in Hue city, and wore them early in the morning to visit the pagoda. They did not forget to take photos at the most famous pagoda of the old capital to memorize their trip.
Also, in the morning of September 2nd, there were two sport events happening at the same time - the Hue Half Marathon 2018 and the traditional boat race on the Perfume River. These made the national holiday in Hue city more exciting. Many activities were taking place, so one could easily choose an entertainment point on the National Day.
It is recorded that such tours as “Morning at Thuy Bieu – Afternoon at Tam Giang”, “Sunset on the Tam Giang Lagoon”, Exploring Dao Ngoc - Son Cha (islands)... also attracted many tourists, with an increase of about 10% in comparison to the figure of the last 2017 National Day. In these sunshine days, beaches also attracted a considerable number of visitors.
According to the Department of Tourism, it was estimated that about 70,000 visitors would arrive in the Hue city in 3 days (from September 1st to 3rd), increasing by 10-15% in comparison to the last year figure. Tourists’ security and safety were guaranteed in the two holidays.
