On the evening of December 29, a representative of the Provincial Department of Tourism said that following three successful nominations for the Asian records in 2012, 2013 and 2022, at the same time, along with the nominations from localities, the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) has continued to summit nomination dossiers for recognition to the Asian Records Organisation.
After the selection process, the Asian Records Organisation decided to recognised 10 nominations, according to the Asian culinary and specialty record criteria, increasing the number of Vietnamese culinary dishes and specialties recognised as Asian records to 60 (in the period of 2012 - 2023, including 38 culinary dishes and 22 natural specialties and gift specialties from the localities). Among the top 10 Asian records this year, Thua Thien Hue has two records recognised as Asian records, which are mussel rice and sesame candy.

With the successful nomination for recognition as Asian records for culinary dishes and specialties, mussel rice and sesame candy contribute to promoting Thua Thien Hue cuisine to a large number of domestic and foreign visitors through a system of records organizations all over the world.
The journey of finding and promoting values of Vietnamese famous culinary dishes and specialties has been carried out by the Vietnamese Records Organization (VietKings) since 2010, with the common mission of bringing Vietnamese quintessence to the world.
In the list which was announced for the fourth time (in the period of 2023 - 2024), 10 new Asian records for Vietnamese culinary dishes and specialties include five culinary dishes, namely the Sai Gon bread (Ho Chi Minh City), mussel rice (Thua Thien Hue), Phan Thiet hotpot (Binh Thuan), Ninh Hoa grilled spring rolls (Khanh Hoa), and vermicelli soup with special broth (Soc Trang).
Along with that, there are five natural specialties and gift specialties, including green sticky rice from Vong village (Hanoi), khoai deo - dried sweet potato (Quang Binh), sesame candy (Thua Thien Hue), Da Lat strawberry (Lam Dong), and Tra Cuon tet cake - glutinous rice cake (Tra Vinh).
