Hue City receives ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award

TTH.VN - On the evening of January 26th, 2024, the award ceremony for the ASEAN Clean Tourist City took place in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Hue City, being one of three cities representing Vietnam, proudly received this prestigious award. This is an award within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) held from January 22nd to 27th. The delegation from Hue City, led by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City, Vo Le Nhat, attended the award ceremony and participated in various activities of the forum.

The ASEAN Tourism Forum 2024 (ATF) in Vientiane, Laos, is a significant event hosted in rotation by ASEAN member countries to promote tourism to regional and international visitors. In addition to the aforementioned award, Hue City also received two other ASEAN Tourism Awards at the ATF 2024 event. These include the ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Product 2024 for the Cultural, Artistic, and Vegan Culinary Experience Tourism at An Nhien Garden and the ASEAN MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) 2024 Award for the Silkpath Grand Hue Hotel in the event venues category.

Moreover, two tourism products representing Vietnam were also honoured with the ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Product 2024 Award: The Cultural, Artistic, and Vegan Culinary Experience Tourism at An Nhien Garden (Thua Thien Hue) and the Traditional Northern Cuisine Experience Tourism in Duong Lam Ancient Village (Hanoi).

In celebration of receiving the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award 2024 and welcoming the Lunar New Year 2024 - the Year of the Dragon, Hue City will organize the “Green Sunday” campaign. A citywide cleanup is scheduled for February 4th to promote the campaign, contributing to building a civilized urban environment for Hue, affirming and reinforcing its well-deserved title as the ASEAN Clean Tourist City. Simultaneously, it underscores the city's commitment to being a green, clean, and sustainable destination.
