Joining the flock of people visiting the culinary booths at Hue Traditional Cuisine Week, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh's family from Thanh Hoa city chose a small table and the members wandered to find their favorite dish and then enjoyed it together. After about 10 minutes of choosing dishes, the 4-person dining table now brings together all the cuisines of the 3 regions, including bamboo-tube rice, grilled beef in Piper lolot leaves, meat-stuffed snails (Southern specialties); mussel rice, Thuan An pressed cake (Hue) and Ha Long squid rolls (Quang Ninh).

Ms. Binh shared: "After a day of visiting Hue's famous destinations, due to the hot weather, the evening is the ideal time for the whole family to walk around and explore Hue at night. Fortunately, on this occasion, Hue organizes a culinary week, so we can experience the elaborate cooking process from Hue dishes to the cuisine of the three regions of North - Central - South, enjoy many dishes and admire the Ao Dai collections and art performances."

Held at an open space on the banks of the romantic Huong River, the Culinary Week has 71 commercial and culinary booths along with 2 sponsors' spaces, including many spaces such as: "Traditional Hue Cuisine" space, which is the main space with 20 booths displaying and performing traditional Hue cuisine. At this space, visitors will be able to experience, enjoy, and witness artisans performing dishes through the "Hue Traditional Cuisine" contest. The space "Hue Cuisine with all Localities" is a place that brings together the quintessence and specialties of the cuisine of the three regions: North - Central - South. The public will enjoy many diverse dishes of Vietnam at 12 booths of this space; At the same time, visitors will be introduced to the culinary culture and unique features of each region through the preparation of each dish demonstrated by Master Chef and famous Vietnamese culinary artists.

According to the organizing committee, during the 5 days of the event, in addition to the 2nd "Hue Traditional Cuisine" Contest, there are many other attractive activities, such as the program "Hue Capital Night - Poetry, Ao Dai, and Cuisine" (in this space, 105 Ao Dais, 105 Hue dishes and 105 pages of silk calligraphy poems about Hue dishes are displayed), charity programs, art performances, and dishes-preparing by artisans, and culinary experience activities.

Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, Mr. Truong Dinh Hanh said that with the orientation of bringing Hue city to become one of the members of the UNESCO creative city network in the field of culinary creativity in 2025, Hue Traditional Cuisine Week 2024 aims to honor, preserve, and promote Hue cuisine’s cultural values, aiming to organize an annual event to serve local people, domestic, and international tourists.

With the theme "Hue Cuisine with all Localities", "Hue Traditional Cuisine Week 2024" takes place from April 27, 2024 to May 1, 2024 with the participation of provinces and cities, such as Ha Long, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Tay Nguyen, Vung Tau, Kien Giang, Can Tho, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City. Along with culinary experience spaces of the 3 regions, the "Street Food" brings together 12 booths, which is a space to meet, interact, and enjoy the flavors of diverse and attractive street food. The space "Introducing commercial products, vegetarian cuisine, and OCOP Hue products" is set up with 6 Hue pure vegetarian cuisine booths, 18 commercial and tourism booths of supporting units and 5 booths for OCOP Hue products.

“Through Culinary Week, we continue to affirm that Hue is a place that still preserves the quintessential values of royal and folk cuisine. This is also one of the contents contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 54 of the Politburo on building and developing Thua Thien Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, with the focus on building Thua Thien Hue to soon become a centrally-governed city on the foundation of preserving and promoting the value of the ancient capital's heritage and Hue's cultural identity," said Mr. Hanh.

Joining the flow of events and festivals in Hue, Hue Traditional Cuisine Week 2024 is an attractive program about the culinary culture of the ancient capital and all regions of the country, bringing tourists and local people new and exciting experiences about Vietnamese traditional and contemporary cuisine during the holidays of April 30 and May 1.
