Visitors at the Imperial City Night Street |
As one of the facilities producing Hue specialties in Tay Loc Ward, after three nights of participating in the product display and introduction at the Imperial City Night Street, the products of Hue Bach Lien Ngu of Lotus Cooperative were sold very well. At the same time, the Cooperative has signed many economic contracts with partners from both inside and outside the province.
The Director of the Cooperative, Ms. Do Ngoc Quynh Chau, said that through the event, products made from Hue lotus, such as dried lotus seed tea, core of the lotus seed tea, dried lotus root, and lotus root powder, etc., of the Cooperative were more widely known by locals and visitors. On this occasion, the Cooperative introduced sales channels on e-commerce platforms and social networking sites for visitors so that they will easily search and order the products.
In addition to promoting and introducing Hue traditional products, the creative space also featured performance program showcasing collections of the traditional ao dai, and royal ao dai to serve visitors.
“Traditionally, ao dai performances are often held at large festivals or programs of Hue Festival, so a part of the locals and visitors have not had the opportunity to enjoy them. Therefore, ao dai performances on the community “stage” of the Imperial City Night Street holds significant meaning in connecting the entire Hue community with visitors, linking Hue's traditional crafts and craft villages with tourism, and creating opportunities for Hue ao dai to flourish and get closer to visitors,” shared Doan Trang, the designer.
Taking place over 3 nights, from August 2 to 4, the creative and experiential space for traditional handicrafts, specialties, and cuisine of Hue gathered 33 traditional craft establishments and craft villages, with many engaging hands-on activities, such as displaying and introducing Hue traditional handicraft products and specialties, demonstrating and experiencing Hue traditional crafts, as well as performing the ao dai and cuisine, etc.
At this event, locals and visitors could participate in activities to experience the crafts of fine art sculpture, making Thanh Tien paper flowers, writing calligraphic words, making Sinh village folk paintings, and enjoying Hue traditional vegetarian cuisine.
Although the event only took place over 3 nights, the city successfully organized a program to connect supply and demand of Hue handicraft products and specialties, attracting more than 10,000 visitors to experience and purchase products.
In this program, 7 major distributors and 33 facilities of traditional handicrafts, specialties, and vegetarian restaurants in the city connected with the distributors, and signed 25 memoranda of understanding to promote product consumption among participating units. This contributes to the introduction and promotion of the quintessential values of Hue traditional handicrafts, specialties, and cuisine, providing visitors with experiences of Hue's craft products and traditional craft villages. Thereby, it aims to connect tourism with the local craft villages in the area.
This event has successfully created a vibrant and impressive open space, harmonizing Hue Imperial City with the natural landscape and the exhibition and demonstration space of traditional crafts and craft villages. The vegetarian food experience space, the ao dai performances, along with cultural and artistic activities serve as an important foundation for the formation of a unique tourism product of Hue Imperial City Night Street, aiming to gradually connect tourism routes and tours in the coming time.
