235 students from 7 countries participate in the 2023 Southeast Asia Youth Camp

TTH.VN - From July 24 to 27, the 2023 Southeast Asia Youth Camp takes place at Nguyen Hue High school, Hue City. This is the first time that the Southeast Asia Youth Camp has been held in Vietnam.

The camp has the participation of students from 7 different countries 

With the theme “the Journey of Youth to Heritage”, the camp has the participation of 235 students and teachers coming from 7 countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Japan, and Vietnam.

There are various special and attractive activities held in the framework of the camp, such as folk games, experiencing traditional crafts, visiting cultural artistic heritages, and enjoying Hue cuisine, etc.

This is an activity held annually by the Association to Learn English for Integration in ASEAN countries (AEISA) to strengthen the relationship among the countries and create connection networks. At the same time, it is an opportunity for students and teachers from the member countries in the region to meet, exchange, promote solidarity, and exchange their knowledge in teaching, studying, and creating forums to enhance the connection and friendship relations among the youth of the countries in the region.

The camp is also a playground for teenagers in ASEAN member countries to promote leadership skills, and develop their language skills in English communication, at the same time they also have chances to learn from each other and exchange their cultures.

Mr. Nguyen Tan, Director of the Department of Education and Training emphasized that the camp is a huge opportunity for students and teachers from the schools to learn, raise their skills and knowledge; exchange cultures with friends in the region; develop communication skill in English, and being in line with the goal “Fundamentally and comprehensively renovating education and training, meeting the demand of industrialization – modernization of the country in the context of a determined market economy with socialist orientation and international integration”.

With the theme “The Journey of Youth to Heritage”, the campers will have a chance to visit, enjoy, and experience Hue cultural heritage, thence, forming the awareness of respecting, preserving, and protecting Hue heritage in particular and human heritage in general.
