American students perform in Hue city

TTH.VN - An art exchange program took place on the afternoon of April 15th at Hue Music Academy between the students of the Academy and those of the Madrigals Choir of the Mountain View High School - the United States; this proves that music could erase any geographical and states’ boundaries.

American students experience Vietnamese culture

Introducing the special value of Vietnamese traditional music to their American counterparts, students of Hue Academy of Music performed pieces of music such as the bamboo symphony of “Suối đàn T’rưng” (T’rưng xylophone), traditional musical instrument symphonies of “Nét dạo ngày xuân” (Spring walk), “Chiếu khăn Phiêu” (The Phiêu scarf) ...

A performance by the Madrigals choir

The art performances of the Mountain View High School choir also successfully introduced to audience melodies and songs of various genres, from classical music to contemporary Pop songs.

What made the audience feel interested was that the American students cooperated with the choir of Hue Academy of Music to perform the pieces of “Lý cây đa” and “Bèo dạt mây trôi” (Vietnamese folksongs). It was pleasant that the American students showed their efforts in leading the exchange program in Vietnamese.

The Madrigals choir consists of students from grades 9 to 12 who are selected based on musical talent criteria and their enthusiasm to participate in group’s activities. Every year, the Madrigals travels to many countries to participate in music festivals and to undertake international tours. The group has performed in Brazil, Iceland, France, England, Italy...
