It was the content of the forum on “Innovating, Technique Improving, Capacity Enhancing to Access the Industrial Revolution 4.0”, co-organized by the Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Business Association on August 26.
Attending the forum were Mr. Le Truong Luu, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Bui Thanh Ha, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Prof. Dam Bach Duong, Director General of High Technology Department, the Ministry of Science and Technology; Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, Director of Vietnam Institute of Economics; speaker Nguyen Chi Thanh, member of the National Start-Up Council; and more than 500 delegates representing departments, branches and businesses in the area.

Speaking at the forum, Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, Director of Vietnam Institute of Economics says that the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is taking place everywhere, this is the indispensable trend. It is important that Vietnam in general and Thua Thien Hue in particular need to be well equipped with solid foundation, really enthusiastic and catch the opportunities to build a strategy to adapt to the Industrial Revolution 4.0, promoting the socio-economic development.
Many enterprises in the area raise their concerns that the infrastructure capacity of many units and fields is limited; the training and development of human resources in the locality have not yet adapted, the mechanism of business development still maintains many barriers... Therefore, access to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 will face many challenges.
Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien
According to Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, to grasp the opportunities of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, Thua Thien Hue needs to put the science and technology development strategy in the axis of the socio-economic development strategy; besides, it is necessary to remove the ties to enterprises in order to facilitate them to increase their development competitiveness; renovate and reform education and training based on market principles, strategies for opening up international integration; promote linkages between the domestic and FDI sectors. Thua Thien Hue also has to determine on the start-up, innovation by high-tech enterprises. Especially, Thua Thien Hue must have a particular program for enterprises development, put a high priority on development of large enterprises, in order to create the great strength in scientific and technological application of Industrial Revolution 4.0, contributing to the socio-economic development.

Speaker Nguyen Chi Thanh says that Thua Thien Hue has many large, medium and small enterprises. In order to approach the Industrial Revolution 4.0, businesses must quickly innovate and connect ... Innovating from the thought of the leaders, creating new business models, creating products from the actual needs of customers; businesses should always hunt for new business ideas, albeit a very small one.
Speaking and explaining on some of the ideas raised at the forum, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Cao emphasizes: Grasping the opportunities and challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the province is developing its master plan and strategy to adapt to the Industrial Revolution 4.0, focusing on promoting the application of advanced science and technology into production and business, prioritizing the application of advanced science and technology in the fields of health, education, agriculture, biotechnology and pharmaceutics, as well as building e-government, smart urban; building specific mechanism of policies in investment and development of science and technology institutions.
"The current Industrial Revolution 4.0 is under way. In order to approach Industrial Revolution 4.0 into each sector and field on the area, the provincial leaders are complying with the policy of the government and central ministries and committed to accompany, listen, meet and exchange in time to solve difficulties for businesses to form and develop fast-paced production and business types, based on the exploitation of intellectual property, technology and new business models," Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Cao says.
