Promoting cooperation between Hue and Japanese localities

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong stated that Thua Thien Hue has established effective cooperative relationships with various localities in Japan.

Accordingly, the province has signed cooperation agreements with two Japanese prefectures, including Kyoto Prefecture (MOU signed in March 2014) and Gifu Prefecture (MOU signed in November 2016); coordinated the implementation of cooperation projects with Yokohama City and Nara Prefecture...

Hue City has also established cooperative relationships with five cities, including Shizuoka (MOU signed in 2005), Kyoto (MOU signed in February 2013), Sasayama (MOU signed in 2018), Saijo (MOU signed in 2018), and Takayama (MOU signed in 2018). Hue City regularly carry out exchange and cooperation activities with Japanese localities and have achieved significant results in various fields such as tourism development, cultural exchange, people-to-people diplomacy, etc.

Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong hopes to promote friendly cooperative relations in various fields between Japanese localities and Thua Thien Hue in the future, with a focus on exploring the potential for further deploying and expanding the relationship between Thua Thien Hue and Kanagawa Prefecture, particularly in areas where both sides have strengths such as information technology, electronics industry, semiconductor chip production; high-tech agriculture, new materials, biotechnology in agricultural production, agro-processing industry; tourism, tourism services, social welfare sectors (healthcare, pharmaceutical and vaccine industry, bioproducts), education and training.

Furthermore, Thua Thien Hue also seeks cooperation with Japan in supporting industries for the textile and garment sector and other related industries; cooperation in training high-quality human resources to meet labour demands in Japan; and promoting the establishment of direct air routes connecting Thua Thien Hue province with Japanese localities.
