Thua Thien Hue promoting local images and potential in the United States and Canada

TTH.VN - The Vietnam local promotion program in the United States and Canada is expected to contribute to introducing the image and potential of Vietnam in general and Thua Thien Hue in particular to international friends; at the same time, attract investment and promote economic and trade cooperation of US and Canadian partners in Thua Thien Hue.

The working delegation of Thua Thien Hue province led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong recently had a trip to participate in the Vietnam Local Promotion Program in the United States and Canada organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The program took place from April 22 to 26.

In New York City, Houston (USA) and Vancouver City (Canada), the delegation attended main activities, such as seminar "Promoting exports and enhancing green, sustainable development between Vietnamese localities and US partners”; Seminar on connecting local businesses between Vietnam and Canada, etc.

In the working program with the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations and leaders of the delegation in charge of consular affairs, science, technology, trade, etc., on the morning of April 22 (local time) in New York City, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong asked the delegation leaders to pay attention to promoting the strengths of Thua Thien Hue province and connect businesses in New York City to invest in the province.

Next, on April 24 (local time), in Houston city, the delegation of Thua Thien Hue province also attended a seminar with the theme " Promoting exports and enhancing green, sustainable development between Vietnamese localities and US partners ".

Here, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong introduced to businesses and investors the potential and investment opportunities in the field of clean energy and renewable energy in the province, and guided all toward the goal of developing clean, eco-friendly industries.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, confirmed that the viewpoint of developing the energy sector in the region is to gradually diversify energy supplies and power sources based on renewable energy sources that the province has potential for, especially renewable energy sources such as biomass sources, solar energy, wind power, gas power, etc., are considered one of the solutions for sustainable development, and Thua Thien Hue province has a lot of great potential for investment and development cooperation.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong suggested that US businesses and investors pay attention to, learn about and make investments in new energy and renewable energy sectors in which Thua Thien Hue has potential advantages, such as Solar power, LNG gas power, wind power, etc. Projects have been identified in the National Energy Master Plan and Power Plan VIII, such as Green hydrogen production, biofuel production, integrated battery storage and solar power farms, etc.

"With the efforts of the government and functional agencies, Thua Thien Hue will explore the local potential in attracting many US investors in the field of renewable energy and technology industries, contributing to the socio-economic development of Thua Thien Hue province in particular and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States in general," Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized.

Also on April 24, the delegation of Thua Thien Hue province visited and worked with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Houston.

The Consulate General confirmed that commerce, renewable energy, green technology, and other areas of cooperation and investment are very potential areas of cooperation between Vietnam and Texas and should be actively promoted by both sides in the coming time. The Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston is ready to serve as a bridge between Vietnamese communities and US investors, organizations and companies who wish to understand the market and proceed with investment and cooperation in the future.

On April 26, after visiting and working with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Vancouver, the delegation attended the Vietnam - Canada Business Local Connection Seminar in Vancouver, Canada.

Apart from leaders of Vietnamese localities, the discussion was attended by more than 150 delegates and 30 CEOs of major Canadian businesses. There was a special presence of Mr. David Eby, Premier of British Columbia, Canada and Mr. Jagrup Brar, Minister of Trade of British Columbia, Canada.

In addition to focusing on strengthening cooperation in trade and investment between Vietnam and Canada and expanding the export of high-quality Vietnamese goods to the Canadian market, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong also highlighted the topic "Promoting investment attraction of Canadian partners into Thua Thien Hue province in the high-tech industrial sector and renewable energy".

On the occasion of these events, leaders of departments participating in the working group at side events also promoted the province's strengths and potential in the areas of tourism, education, investment potential and opportunities.
