Updating new techniques of hand deformities surgery for doctors in the Central region and all over the country

TTH.VN - From October 21 to 25, a team of international experts from Australia in collaboration with Hue Central Hospital (HCH) organized the 16th training course to transfer the hand deformities surgery technique to doctors coming from hospitals in the Central region and all over the country.

Australian experts and practitioners screened for malformations of patients before performing surgery

With the topic "Micro-surgery and hand fracture treatment - the basic technique of shoulder and wrist arthroscopy - rehabilitation", experts from hospitals in Australia and the UK updated new techniques in a unique way: theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice on the model as every attendant had the chance to practice, along with clinical training and live laparoscopic surgery, rehabilitation so that after the course, attendants would be able to tackle problems that have been approached previously.

On this occasion, experts of the course conducted screenings for hundreds of cases of hand deformities; in which, they have performed many cases related to hand deformities and brachial plexus paralysis at Hue Central Hospital.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hy, Director of Trauma & Orthopedic - Plastic surgery - Burn Center of Hue Central Hospital, hand malformation was one of the most common congenital defects in Vietnam which greatly affected motor function, psychological development of individual. The right diagnosis and proper surgery would give children the opportunity to overcome malformations, and improve their integration into the community.
