US Ambassador to Vietnam considers Hue "tourist paradise"

TTH.VN - On December 12, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho met and had a working session with the US Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Daniel J. Kritenbrink.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho was glad to meet the Ambassador. He introduced to the Ambassador and the Consul General about general features and highlights of the socio-economic situation, potentials and strengths of the province. Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho affirmed and highly appreciated the support, cooperation and assistance of the United States Government in the fields of culture, education, and natural disaster mitigation.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes the Ambassador to continue to work as “a bridge” so as to support Thua Thien Hue in the fields of culture, health and education; in which, the focus is on the restoration, preservation and embellishment of relics; stimulating tourism promotion, especially promoting travel activities to have more US tourists to Hue; supporting and training officials in charge of museum management, restoration of paintings and artifacts; promoting to bring students to study in the United States, etc., and, at the same time, to call for more investors to seek investment opportunities in Hue and support the development in the fields of smart urban construction, and e-government, etc. The provincial leaders always create the most favorable conditions for the US investors.

H.E. Daniel J. Kritenbrink was strongly impressed by the beauty and people of Hue, and considered Hue a "tourist paradise" with featured scenery and monuments. He expressed his thanks to the hospitality of the provincial leaders, and wanted to become a regular guest of Hue so as to have the opportunity to participate in activities in Hue, and find out the similarities in order to have strategies to support Hue in a number of areas.

The Ambassador was interested in the ideas and strategic vision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and pledged to continue further study for the development cooperation with Thua Thien Hue authorities in the fields of information technology, aviation, clean energy, and smart urban; coordinate and support the settlement of war consequences, and natural disaster mitigation; strengthen study abroad information for students in Hue, etc. At the same time, he would further promote Hue's images to American people in order to attract visitors to Hue and US enterprises seeking investment opportunities in Hue.
