At the meeting, Mr. Grant T. Coates shared joy with Vietnamese people in the outstanding success of Vietnam U-23 football team at the Asian Football Confederation U23 Championship and confirmed that the event had shown the Vietnamese high spirit of national unity.

Mr. Grant T. Coates said that the delegation's trip to Vietnam was to implement the "Veterans Initiative Program" so as to provide the information and profiles of Vietnamese soldiers killed or missing in action, and exchange ideas with relevant Vietnamese agencies on the process of addressing the issues of Agent Orange and Missing in Action (MIA) on both sides during the war.

On that basis, VVA will implement communication programs to help Americans better understand the issue of Agent Orange, in order to promote the resolution of war consequences, especially in dealing with environmental remediation of Agent Orange in Vietnam, etc.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dung said that Thua Thien Hue province had recently worked closely with US agencies and organizations to solve post-war problems. The provision of information and profiles by VVA will facilitate Vietnamese functional agencies to find and identify the graves of Vietnamese martyrs. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dung hopes VVA to have practical and effective activities so as to promote the resolution and handling of issues related to Agent Orange in Vietnam.
