Specifically, 20 aluminum and glass cupboards and 30 super lean-meat pig breeds were given to the poor and near-poor households, while the students at Loc Hoa primary and junior high school received 50 sets of chairs and tables, 65 sets of clothing and 1,000 notebooks.

All these products are brought by enterprises who participate in the 2013-2017 Thriive project, which aims for the dual impacts including boosting the development of small and medium-sized businesses and job generation by providing pay-it-forward financing; and making vulnerable communities more resilient and self-sufficient by furnishing them with products/services/vocational training offered by the beneficial enterprises themselves.

The VND 10-billion project, which is funded by Thriive U.S. and under the management by Thua Thien Hue Union of Friendship Organizations (HueFO) and its U.S. partner Design Capital Asia (DCA), has been profiting about 70 enterprises and dozens of thousands of people in Thua Thien Hue. This is the 4th program carried out by the project in the southern district of the province alone, following Xuan Loc, Vinh My and Vinh Giang communes.
