In Thua Thien Hue alone, in the past five years, more than USD 20 million under 244 programs and projects in many fields have been mobilized. Among them, integrated rural development, health, education and training, social protection and climate change adaptation are the fields attracting the most attention from international donors.
At the meeting, the Program’s Evaluation Report was presented by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization, the standing member of the Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations Affairs (COMINGO) and then discussed and reviewed by nearly 100 delegates of various relevant central and local agencies.
Since the promulgation of the Program by the Prime Minister in July 2013, it has made a significant contribution to the stabilization and promotion of the amount and effectiveness of NGO aid mobilization on a national scale, in the context that the source of funding for Vietnam has gradually shrunk since the nation reached the low average income level (about USD 1,000/capita/year).

Specifically, from 2013 to 2017, over USD 1.5 billion has been mobilized nationally, making an increase of USD 100 million compared with USD 1.38 billion during 2008-2012. The effectiveness of programs and projects has also been strengthened with concrete and clear impacts on promoting socio-economic development, addressing traditional and non-traditional challenges, enhancing capacity of the local organizations and staffs as well as contributing to the advancement of foreign relations and friendship.
In 2017 alone, it is estimated that the country’s NGO aid would reach about USD 300 million. For Thua Thien Hue, about USD 4.1 million for 47 programs and projects has been enlisted.
