Higher quality and quantity

The COVID-19 pandemic had an adverse effect on many businesses, but the number of individuals and businesses participating in the Thua Thien Hue Innovative Start-up Award had increased, with higher quality than before. The competition opened in July and since then, the Organizing Committee had received 56 dossiers with ideas and projects in all fields, contributing to a strong wave of innovative start-ups in Thua Thien Hue province.

The judges selected 30 ideas for potential startup projects to enter the semi-finals. They then continued to evaluate and voted for 16 ideas. The most potential projects entered the final round. These ideas and projects are in the fields of education, commercial tourism, information technology application, native resource exploitation and cultural traditional values promotion...

Based on the evaluation in the final round, the Organizing Committee selected 9 ideas and projects submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval. The first prize was awarded to the project: AIQuant – an automatic AI data analysis system by author Nguyen Phuong Duy.

The project's product is an in-depth, multi-dimensional, scientific and reliable analysis tool of the financial situation of businesses, instant market data, useful stock analysis reports, and investment management. The tool is optimal not only for Vietnamese but international markets’ demands.

In addition, 2 projects were awarded Second prizes: Mobile application "Hue-Trippal" by Thai Hoang Lam and his colleague for smart travel application on smartphones, specially designed for visitors to Hue and the project “Community-based tourism ecosystem promoting indigenous resource values in Nam Dong district” of YesHue Investment and Services JSC.

Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho congratulated individuals, groups of authors and enterprises who have won the awards of the province's innovative start-up contest 2020. He regarded highly the effectiveness of the innovative start-up competition after 5 times organized by the Provincial People's Committee.

Many start-ups had the chance for networking on the occasion of the meeting with the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the afternoon of December 5

The effectiveness is evident in all aspects, especially the active participation of departments, branches and the education and training system in the area. The province's innovative start-up ecosystem has been gradually developed with many supporting policies and mechanisms. In addition, many products are researched, developed and commercialized. Young people, students and young businesses are increasingly aware of the need for creativity and innovation.

We hope that the annual contests are not only a movement, but can become a driving force for job creation, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development, making Thua Thien Hue a municipal city directly under the Central Government in the near future.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho shared that the provincial leaders will continue to create favorable conditions, support the youth to start their own businesses and contribute to their homeland.
