22nd Vietnam Film Festival kicks off
TTH.VN - Going through difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, on the morning of November 18, the opening ceremony and press conference of the 22nd Vietnam Film Festival was held in Hue by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Provincial People’s Committee.
Attending the event were Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh.
The film festival is a gathering opportunity of the cinematic circles in the whole country
With the slogan “Building up a Vietnamese film industry rich in national identity, modernity, and humanity”, the Film Festival takes place from November 18 to 20, with the participation of 127 films in various genres such as feature films, documentaries, scientific films, and animated films; in which there are 92 film in competition and 35 films in the panorama program.
The films will be introduced to the audience by screening at 4 theaters in Hue City from November 18 to 20 and on VTVGo from November 14 to 20. Furthermore, 4 films of Vietnamese cinema that were shot in Hue are also included in the movie show times of both screening forms to serve the audience.
Addressing at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Head of the Steering Committee of the 22nd Vietnam Film Festival expressed his respect for the effort and the timely response in adjusting the methods of film production, release and film promotion to safely adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic of the whole film industry. After all, after 2 years of facing difficulties, the film producers and cinematographic artists can gather at this festival. This will be a typical cultural and artistic mark of 2021.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that as the host locality, Thua Thien Hue has carefully prepared for this event in all aspects, creating the most favorable conditions for the success of this festival. Mr. Binh said that this is an opportunity for the province to introduce and promote the unique features and the quintessence of Hue culture to friends in the country with the orientation of forming and developing the cultural industries based on the field of cinema.
