Thanh Toan tiled roof bridge is being dismantled
The project is invested by Huong Thuy Town Management Board of Construction Investment and is expected to be implemented in 2 years’ time.
On 16/4, the dismantling was still urgently underway. The system of rafters, tile roofs, etc., after being lowered will be classified according to the level of damage. From there, the inspection and evaluation will be carried out to plan additional materials before the restoration process.
In this restoration phase, Thanh Toan tiled roof bridge will be restored to the original details to promote the cultural preservation value of the project.
The bridge was built in 1776 in the style of "thượng gia hạ kiều" (on top is the house, and the lower part is the bridge). It was recognized as a national monument in July 1990. The bridge has a length of 17m and a width of 4m. On both sides of the bridge, there are two rows of wooden platforms and railings to sit on. The bridge is covered with glazed pipe tiles which are divided into 7 compartments.
