On the occasion of the 104th birth anniversary of To Huu, the poet, and the 70th anniversary of the publication of his poem titled “Viet Bac” (1954 - 2024), through the introduction of Professor Nguyen Huy Hoang, a poet and a specialist in Russian literature, the family of photographer artist Hoang Thao, a member of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, donated the stele engraved with the poem titled “Viet Bac” by To Huu.

The translation into the Tay language on the poetic stele was done by Mr. Hoang Van The, the father of artist Hoang Thao. The poem is engraved on a white stone stele, with Vietnamese language on the front and Tay language on the back. It is placed in the compound of the Cultural Park and the Memorial Site of Comrade To Huu.

During the two resistance wars, the poet To Huu composed a large number of poems to inspire soldiers and people, which were closely associated with the entire history of the resistance wars. Among them, the poem titled “Viet Bac” is a piece that accompanied the years throughout the nation's historical journey. The poem was written in October 1954, when the Central agencies of the Party and Government left the Viet Bac resistance zone and returned to Hanoi.

This poem was written in the luc bat verse form (“six eight”, the alternating lines of six and eight syllables). Most of the poem recreated a period of hardship and glory of the revolution and resistance war in the Viet Bac resistance zone, which has now become a deep memory in the hearts of everyone.
