Provincial leaders participate in the Vesak ceremony
Permanent Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Thanh Ha and representatives from the People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee and other agencies in the province and Hue city also participated in the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Duc Thanh, Permanent Member of the Executive Council of Vietnam’s Buddhist Sangha (VBS), Head of the provincial VBS Executive Board, Head of Vesak Ceremony Organizing board announced the Message of the Chairman of the national VBS Executive Council. He affirmed, “Over the past 26 centuries, Lord Buddha has enlightened our life, bringing happiness, peace and prosperity to humanity across the planet, keeping away inequality, war, conflict and poverty. As far as that light illuminates, it is full of love and bright wisdom for sustainable development for the benefit of the majority and happiness of the humanity.”
It is hoped that Buddhist clergy and followers, and VBS’s members must uplift the spirit of “Wisdom - Ethics - Integration – Development,” continuously widespread Buddhism and continue its important role in the great national unity bloc and the national construction and defense, contributing to bringing peace and prosperity to the People and peace for humanity.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Khe Chon, Deputy Head of Thua Thien Hue VBS Executive Board recalled the Buddha’s teachings over the past two thousand years.

“A nation will develop in prosperity and sustainability if each of its citizen lives on selflessness and does not put even interests of a small group in society above interests of the whole people. A region and the entire world will achieve stability and peace in Buddha’s tolerance and non-violent spirit, as mentioned in the Anguttara Nikaya, Chapter Seven, Buddha’s Dharma about the seven conditions for prosperity of a nation,” he affirmed.
