The beauty of traditional culture of A Luoi reflected in sketches

TTH.VN - Over 150 sketch works capturing the beauty of A Luoi region through the perspectives of both professional and amateur artists were recently showcased and introduced to the public on the afternoon of July 10th at Diem Phung Thi Art Center (Hue Museum of Fine Arts, 17 Le Loi, Hue City).

This exhibition is the result of an art trip that took place in March 2023, with the participation of nearly 50 members from the Urban Sketchers Group in Hanoi and local artists from Hue.

Visitors will have the opportunity to encounter familiar images that portrayed the colorful life of A Luoi, including customs, traditions, architectural heritage, and cuisine. Through the eyes of the artists, these artworks somewhat preserve the memories, contributing to preserving the value of cultural heritage of Hue in general and of A Luoi in particular.

On this occasion, the Hue Museum of Fine Arts plans to publish a book titled “Heritage Sketches of Hue Ancient Capital 2023”, containing 85 selected sketches. This publication aims to evoke pride, raise awareness about heritage preservation, and promote the cultural identity of Hue's tangible and intangible legacy.

In collaboration with the People's Committee of A Luoi district, Hue Museum of Fine Arts also organized a display and demonstration of the weaving craft of Zeng of A Luoi, a long-standing traditional occupation and a unique cultural product passed down through generations among the Ta Oi ethnic community.

Additionally, there is also Ao dai fashion show with a combination and using sketches paintings about A Luoi and brocade of Zeng of A Luoi as the background.

The exhibition will remain open until July 20th.

The sketches created by Artist Nguyen Van Nguyen successfully depict the heroic historical years of the resistance war fought by the people and soldiers of Binh Tri Thien against the US. These sketches accurately portrayed the lives of compatriots and soldiers during this time. Many of these works were composed during the war and were introduced to the public for the first time in an exhibition titled “Memory Land”.
