“The Capital land of the Genies” to the South

TTH.VN - This is the name of an exhibition of four young artists from Hue – the Capital land of the Genies that has just been opened and introduced to spectators in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of October 14 at Cloud Artspace - 36/70 Nguyen Gia Tri (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City).

The four artists are Le Huu Long, Tran Huu Nhat, Nguyen Duc Nghia and Nguyen Trung Kien. Over 30 works of art are recent compositions of the four Hue artists using different materials such as oil paints, acrylics, synthetics, etc. They bring spectators to a deep but extremely close inner world in their journey of maintaining a solitary and private existence.

Le Huu Long brings a disturbance with an even greater amplitude when choosing colours with strong contrasts. His work contains many recognizable symbolic images, in return, more suggestive of ideas than images.

For Tran Huu Nhat, abstract works convey meaning clearly but not to be seen with the eyes but to be felt in the way that order and chaos coexist. Meanwhile, Nguyen Duc Nghia offers another existential fusion of inner emotions as its proliferation is overlaid with a very real human figure.

Finally, also with the subject of a human figure which Nguyen Trung Kien calls a corpse, the meaning could be talking about human bodies lethargic in pain, rotting in despair, or nothingness.

The exhibition lasts until October 23.
