Seven lotus lanterns launched onto the Huong River to celebrate Buddha's birthday
TTH.VN - On the morning of May 23 (5th of the 4th lunar month, of the year of the Cat), the Board of Administration - The Organizing Committee of the Vesak 2567 in Thua Thien Hue Province performed the rite of launching of seven lotus lanterns onto the middle of the Huong River to celebrate the major occasion.

According to the Provincial Board of Administration of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the seven lotus lanterns were launched and solidly reinforced in the middle of the Huong River, at the area in front of Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion. This area is considered a convenient location for Buddhists and visitors to admire and commemorate to the birthday of the Buddha Shakyamuni, and pray for the glory of the Fatherland, longevity of the Dharma, peace in the world, and peaceful living beings.
It is known that the ceremony to light up the seven lotus lanterns will be celebrated on the evening of May 26, 2023 (8th of the 4th lunar month, of the year of the Cat) at Nghinh Luong Dinh by the Board of Administration - The Organizing Committee of the Vesak 2567. The lotus lanterns will be on the Huong River during the Vesak Week.
Also, on the morning of May 23, the Board of Administration - The Organizing Committee of the Vesak 2567 released 50,000 fingerlings of all kinds into the Huong River to regenerate aquatic resources. This is a meaningful activity, aiming to protect the aquatic resources in general, and aquatic environment in particular, which is launched by the Provincial People's Committee.
