Thousands of students excitedly participated in the S-Race 2024 running tournament

TTH.VN - On the morning of March 9, the launching ceremony of the S-Race Thua Thien Hue running tournament for students, with the message "For the stature of Vietnamese", took place at the Noon Gate Square.

The S-Race 2024, with its first stop in Thua Thien Hue, continues to affirm its position as the largest-scale school sports project for students. Beside the direct competition event held at the Noon Gate Square, the S-Race Thua Thien Hue 2024 also hold response running activities in 8 localities in the province, including 2 towns (Huong Thuy, and Huong Tra ) and 6 districts (Phong Dien, Quang Dien, Phu Vang, Phu Loc, A Luoi, and Nam Dong), which were held on the same morning of March 9. The total number of athletes, who are students, teachers, and parents, was nearly 20,000 people.

The S-Race Thua Thien Hue includes competition categories for 3 age groups, who are junior high school students (from 11 to 14 years old); high school students (from 15 to 17 years old); and college and university students (from 18 to 23 years old). In which, the 3 km competition distance is for college and university male students and high school male students; while 1.5 km competition distance is for junior high school male students, college and university female students, high school female students and junior high school female students.

In the exciting atmosphere, thousands of students, teachers, and parents excitedly participated in the running race. Ha Phan Thao My, a 5th grade student from Le Loi Primary School said: "I am very happy to participate in the S-Race Family category with my mother. Even though I didn't win the prize, I tried my best and joined my friends to spread the spirit of the S-Race:doing exercise for health."

In addition to the official competition categories, the S-Race Thua Thien Hue 2024 is a true festival, with rich and diverse activities. They are the S-Race Family and the S-Race School, where teachers and parents, along with elementary and junior high school students hold hands on the running track; attractive school sports experience area; and the photography area where they can keep their memorable emotions…

The connection between points, as well as the connection between parents and children, teachers and students, all create a meaningful S-Race, contributing to spreading love and physical training habits to more than 26 million students across the country.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Man, a parent of a student from Quang Trung Primary School, who participated in the running event with his child, shared: "When I received the invitation from the form teacher, I was very happy and excited to participate because this was an opportunity to accompany with my child at a sporting event. This program is also very meaningful for the physical development of students, spreading the spirit of sports among the younger generation."

Following the success of the previous season, the S-Race 2024 continues to cooperate with the Foundation for Vietnamese Stature. From there, millions of running steps taken by the S-Race athletes will become meaningful gifts for children who need to restore motor function. For each participation in the direct race, the Foundation for Vietnamese Stature will set aside VND 5,000 to the fund for the treatment of motor disabilities, so as to support poor pediatric patients.

In addition, the S-Race athletes nationwide can continue to raise an additional VND 200 per kilometer when participating in the online running tournaments, the S-Race Family Online and the S-Race School Online. Through this meaningful activity, the S-Race contributes to spreading humanistic values, educating the spirit of sharing to students and inspiring positive living to the community.

The organizing committee awarded individual prizes, from the first place to the 10th place to athletes in 6 competition categories; and 3 collective prizes (corresponding to the 3 educational levels) for units with the largest number of participating athletes. The total prize value of the S-Race Thua Thien Hue is VND 132 million.
