A joyous day with the recognition of the heritage tree.

At the ceremony, Vinh Xuan commune received the decision from the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment recognizing two Vietnam Heritage Trees: a nearly 400-year-old calophyllum tree at Ke Vo village's communal house and a 300-year-old persimmon tree in Tan Sa village, both of which are thriving. These ancient trees are a source of pride for the people of Vinh Xuan Commune, particularly for the residents of Tan Sa and Ke Vo villages.

These trees are not only ancient and classified as heritage trees but also historical witnesses, having stood with the villagers through the years of resistance against the French colonialists and the American imperialists. The trees served as hiding spots to observe enemy planes. Over centuries, the calophyllum and persimmon trees have been regarded as treasures by the villagers, protected and cherished through generations.

The recognition of these trees as Vietnam Heritage Trees not only honors and acknowledges their unique, significant contributions to the landscape and ecological environment but also helps promote awareness among local residents about the importance of preserving and caring for heritage trees. This recognition aligns with efforts to protect nature while enhancing the cultural and historical values of the local area.
