A valuable and rare sea turtle released back to natural environment
TTH.VN - On the morning of January 18, Lang Co Border Guard Station (Provincial Border Guard Command) coordinated with Forest Protection Department of Phu Loc district to release a Vich sea turtle weighing 10kg back to marine environment.

At 7 a.m. on the same day, the Lang Co Border Guard Station got the information from Mr. Mai Thanh (born in 1976, residing in Lap An civil group, Lang Co town, Phu Loc district) that on the night of January 17, Mr. Thanh discovered a sea turtle stuck in the net while he was spreading out the net.
Right after receiving the announcement, the Lang Co Border Guard Station appointed forces to come to record the scene and coordinated with the Forestry Branch to identify this animal. According to Major Hoang Van Dung, Deputy Political Commissar of Lang Co Border Guard Station, through inspection, the sea turtle was defined as an individual of Vich family (scientific name: Cheloniidea) and classified as a kind of animals that needs to be preserved in the Red Book, the appropriate authorities made a report to receive and release it back to the natural marine environment.
Previously, on January 14, the unit also received from the local people in An Tay (Lang Co town) a Vich individual and released it back to the sea.
