Firmiana simplex flowers bloom in Hue Imperial Citadel

TTH.VN - Inherently being called a regal flower associated with the image of the Nguyen Dynasty in Hue, the annual blooming season of Firmiana simplex (also known as Chinese parasol) flowers is in late March and April, creating picturesque images in the space of Hue Imperial Citadel.

In the old days, the Firmiana simplex tree was a precious kind of tree that was only grown in the inside area of Hue Citadel and at the mausoleums of kings in the Nguyen Dynasty. Emperor Minh Mang also ordered to engrave the image of Firmiana simplex trees on Nhan Dinh (Nhan urn) in Hue Imperial Citadel.

As it blooms, all Firmiana simplex leaves fall and are superseded by the clusters of tiny bright violet flowers blooming densely on the branches. Looking from above, after blooming and falling to the ground, Firmiana simplex flowers form a dreamlike flower carpet on the background of Hue Imperial Citadel’s ancient tiles.

Coming to Hue Imperial Citadel this time, tourists will get a chance to enjoy the Firmiana simplex trees blooming beautifully as in the fairyland.

Hue News would like to introduce to readers a series of photos of Firmiana simplex flowers taken by Nguyen Phuc Bao Minh, a photographer.
