This mausoleum was built in 6 years (from 1814 to 1820), it is a complex of mausoleums of many royal members. The whole area of this mausoleum is a complex of mountains with 42 mountains in all sizes with their own names; in which, Dai Thien Tho is the biggest mountain selected as the guarding screen and it is also used to name the whole complex of mountains here – Thien Tho Mountain.

The complex of this mausoleum is over 28km2 wide, creating a grand scenery stretching from the foot of the Truong Son mountain range to the Ta Trach bank – a confluence of the Huong River and is known as a magnificent picture.

Through the lens of the photographer Bao Minh, Thua Thien Hue Weekly would like to invite you to take an upriver travel along the Huong River to visit the magnificent picture upstream. As recorded in old history, the geomancer Le Duy Thanh (the son of the scientist Le Quy Don) is the one who found this land. According to him, this place “collects all good influences emanating from the mountains gathering around”, where “the good influences will last for ten thousand years”, etc.

A Roang is far but close

A Roang is a border commune of A Luoi district, which is about 90km away from Hue city center. People living here are mainly the Ta Oi people. Being located at the foot of the majestic Truong Son Mountain, A Roang was once a poor and extremely difficult place to travel to. However, it is now an attractive destination for visitors who love the rustic beauty of people and villages in wild mountains and forests, or immersing themselves in waterfalls and lakes in the middle of mountains and forests.
