Every year, in the days leading up to Tet, workers of Hue Green Park Center are busy preparing flowers and ornamental plants to display along the parks and central routes to welcome the new year.

By the end of November to the early of December (the eleventh and twelfth month of lunar calendar), local people in Thanh Tien village, Phu Mau commune (Hue city) are busy making paper flowers to meet the demand of worship and decoration for Tet holiday.

For flower growers in Phu Mau, Phu Thuong, Thuy Van (Hue City), there are always sprouts raised on the loose soil beds, so that their gardens and fields are green, not only for Tet holiday. Therefore, it is not difficult to see colorful flower gardens shimmering in the wind, whether spring, summer, autumn or winter.

The adverse winter weather coupled with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic signals an unfavorable Tet (Lunar New Year) flower crop for farmers from nursery to the output market.

On the morning of December 27, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology established a consulting conference to assign the Center for Flowers and Ornamentals Research and Development, the Fruit and Vegetable Research Institute to carry out a scientific thesis at provincial level on “Research on Conservation and development of Hue’s yellow apricot blossom (Hue royal apricot)".
